I "met" Joan Mitchell in the Abstract Expressionism exhibition and I must say that looking at her painting, which was "Mandres", I was immediately overwhelmed and passionate about her. Joan Mitchell was born in 1925 and died in 1992. Her abstract work is focused in different sensations and vibrations that the artist felt during all life and essentially through the environment that surrounded her. I used Joan Mitchell to develop my dissertation and I must confess that is was a pleasure to "know" her personality and life events. My interpretation of Mitchell's work completely changed after my deep study of the artist. It demonstrated how beyond surfaces with brushstrokes her paintings are, how an abstract art can cause so much impact and emotion on us.
